What do I need to know?

Are lash extensions right for you? Are you an eye rubber? Do you have sensitive skin or eyes? Do you take thyroid medication?  Do you have any allergies to latex or bananas? If you answered yes to any of these questions, eyelash extensions may not be a fit for you. Feel free to book a free consultation anytime!
How to look after lash extensions? Do not rub, pull or pick or scratch them. Try not to sleep on them, sleep with your hand under your eyes. Gently pat dry after showering, then lightly blow dry from underneath or fan dry. Finish with a gentle combing with a proper lash wand. The less you touch them, the longer they will last. They do not need much maintenance, just smart maintenance.
What to expect  after a lash extension appointment? The first 48 hrs are critical! Remember that you've just had fine, tiny synthetic hairs intricately glued to your natural lashes. As with most things involving glue, there is a drying time. Eyelash extensions take mere hours to apply, but 24-48 hours to fully cure. FOR THE FIRST 48 HRS AVOID: ANY TYPE OF WATER, STEAM, SWEATING, TOUCHING YOUR LASHES OR SLEEPING FACE DOWN. Let your new lashes be! This will come easy, because your eyelashes will be vibrant, fresh and gorgeous.
How long do lash extensions last? Lash extensions need to be filled every 2-3 weeks. Any longer than this runs the risk of damaging your natural lashes due to growth, twisting, and if you fiddle with them, breakage and accidentally pre-maturely plucking out your natural lash. If you do not want another fill, a professional removal is a way to preserve your natural lashes health.
How long can I keep eyelash extensions on for? This is a very individual situation that is at the discretion of the lash technician. Some people can go years on end with no damage. Some people need a break every 6-12 months if their lashes start to thin out, or get gaps with lash loss. Mascara use naturally lifts the lashes upright when used. Lash extensions weigh the natural lash down. Please note after a removal they will look shorter due to their droop from the additional weight that has been on them. Within 3 months, you grow a complete new set of lashes! There are many growth serums to help improve the overall re-growth, but regardless it still takes 3 full cycles in 3 months. There is never any harm in putting them on and taking them off for special occasions, as long as it is done professionally.
What is an appointment like? Come in, unwind, relax. Melt into the memory foam, snuggle in with a fluffy blanket. Smell the festive candle, and lose yourself in Zen music. Many clients sleep. This is a time carved out for you, and only you.  Invest into yourself, you are worth it. After you settle in, under-eye pads are applied, holding down your bottom row of lashes. If your bottom lashes are exposed while lashing, your top lashes could be glued to them. This is a very important step, but you should feel no discomfort whatsoever in the process. Then the lashing begins! You should ideally feel nothing, it is a gentle process. If your lids are heavy set, medical tape could be used to pull up your skin slightly to have better exposure to your lashes. When the lashing is complete, all the tape and eye-pads are gently removed.  Your eyes are then misted with a humidifier to help the curing process, followed by a small drying process with a small fan. That's it, you are feeling brand new, and look refreshed!
How many natural lashes do we lose? Our lashes can naturally shed up to 1-5 lashes per day. Our lashes go through 3 cycles over a 3 month period where they achieve a full re-growth. Proper maintenance of extensions is a must.
